Five Wisconsin wrestlers claimed championships at the Roadrunner Open in Bakersfield, Cali. Sunday.
Eli Stickley (141 pounds), Zander Wick (149), Ryan Christensen (174), No.20 Evan Wick (165) and No.11 Ricky Robertson (184) each finished tops in their respective weight classes.

After two years waiting in the wings, redshirt sophomore Ben Stone is now the starting heavyweight for the Wisconsin wrestling team.
Stone came to UW as an accomplished prep wrestler. During his time at Cumberland (Wis.) High School he accumulated 140 wins, the second most of any grappler in school history, and broke the program record for single-season wins on two different occasions. This offseason was an unfortunately eventful one for the UW-Parkside wrestling program.

Last season was a step in the right direction for the Wisconsin wrestling team.
Following the Badgers’ first losing season in three years, the 2016-17 UW squad posted a 7-5 dual record, tied for eighth at the Big Ten Championships and finished 19th at the NCAA Tournament.

Denmark’s Jayden Laurent captured the crown at 148 pounds at Super 32 in Greensboro, North Carolina.
